DELIVERED PRODUCT DISAPPOINTING.

Website was great. Easy to order plugs. ZF did a great job of billing my credit card. ZF shipped quickly. But the delivered product was so dormant and dry that it looks dead. The 3 inch plugs were not cut. But the worst thing is I cannot find the green side to put up. SUMMARY: GREAT MARKETING. DISAPPOINTING PRODUCT DELIVERY!
Merchant reply by John 1 day ago Thank you for taking the time to reach out via this feedback. The grass does ship dormant this time of year which is the safest way to ship any living plant. Now it doesn't look its prettiest upon arrival but in the end that has no affect on the results. Grass does vary in thickness and with very tangled roots resulting in some plugs not getting cut all the way through for which we apologize. Running a utility knife along the crease usually finishes the job. The roots on Zoysia are quite fibrous compared to the softer grass blades but both being brown can causes initial confusion. Thanks for the opportunity to review this and for making us aware.

easy to order online!
Merchant reply by John 2 days ago That is good to learn. If the weather holds your order should be on its way sometime later this week. Happy planting.

Hard to get ahold of

It’s really difficult to get ahold of customer service. I’ve left messages and sent emails, but have yet to hear from anyone.
Merchant reply by John 1 day ago I just checked your order and see from the notes customer service has already talked to you and discussed anticipated shipping to your area. Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. It is a very busy time of year. We try to get back to every call and email just as soon as we can.

Lack if a 3" square sod plugger

I do think a little note on shipping status woulld be helpful so people can plan better. No an exact date but something better than " we will ship during the planting season for your state is far too general" Another big question why on earth don't they sell a 3" square sod plugging tool instead of some cheap 3# round tool? Just saying...
Merchant reply by John 2 days ago Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback. First shipments are difficult to predict as they are governed by weather. I think you might have missed the shipping map in the Shipping Schedule category. It says your state starts shipping mid March and I'm happy to confirm it will start this week as planned. The auger round hole works great for giving a nice snug fit for the square plug and is infinitely faster and less work then a step on square hole maker. We have tried both and like the auger tool much better.

Ordering was easy but I was a bit dismayed by the shipping. I ordered 15 trays of 3x3 plugs plus an auger. It came in 2 boxes. First to arrive (on time) was a box with 5 trays in good. The 10 trays in the 2nd box were delayed a day by Fed Ex and were a mess as they had appeared to have been bounced around a lot. About half of the trays had a lot of the dirt separated from the roots. My guess is that they will be okay once I plant them over the next couple of days but time will tell. Would have been better to ship the trays in 3 boxes of 5 trays.
Merchant reply by John 2 days ago Thank you for taking the time to alert us to how the grass arrived. You are correct the plugs should be fine once planted as all the plant's vitality is in the root system. The dirt can fall off in shipping particularly if the box has a rough trip. That makes the arriving grass looking a little less than its best but once planted it should bounce back and be fine. I have noted your order as arriving in poor conditions but you have planted everything. Shipping is an expensive element for heavy grass (plus dirt) and a very complex calculation that we try to keep simple. Thank you for your suggestion.
